If you drive for your business, a mileage log is often required or at least wise. For example to prove your business trips, or with a company car to prove you drive no more than 500 private kilometres. Check the current rules for your situation.
What goes in it?
- Date of the trip and the vehicle.
- Departure and destination.
- Number of kilometres driven.
- The purpose of the trip, for example a customer meeting.
Keeping it quick
Record a trip as soon as you are back: it takes half a minute on your phone. A log you fill in from memory afterwards is less reliable.
Exporting
Download your trips as csv and share them with your bookkeeper, per year. In Moonlight Bookkeeping the mileage log sits next to your hours and your invoices, and your bookkeeper looks along in the same administration: see work with your bookkeeper online.
